Express Shoreditch glaziers offer a complete double glazing service including a local double glazing installer, double glazing repairs and Shoreditch replacement double glazing.
Double-glazed units take approximately two to three days to order, and all our units come with a manufacturers guarantee. If requested, we can replace the vacuum between the glass panes with a layer of Argon gas, to further facilitate heat management. We can also supply and install triple-glazed units on request for Shoreditch and the local area.
Annealing
Annealing is a process employed when double glazed units are manufacturered. The glass panel is heated in such a way so that the entire pane has a uniform temperature. The temperature is then held steady for long enough to remove all internal stresses introduced by the formation of the glass while it was in it's molten state. The glass is then slowly cooled. This process has several benefits for the glass. If the stresses are not removed, this can cause fractures later on from slight impacts, or sizeable changes to temperature. The optical properties of the glass are also improved.
